Hey Guys,
I just register at this website, am I am pretty new to the whole BMW logo and talk. I was wondering if yall could give me some advice on purchasing a new "used" car? I currently have a 2002 Honda Accord LX, which I plan on trading in for a BMW. However, I cannot decide between a 2000 740iL or a 1998 M3 Sedan. I know they both are good cars, and I have heard they are safe. However, as far as that, I know nothing else about them. I am 16 years old, and I would like the M3 sedan, however, I don't know if it is better to get the 740iL. I know I will be pleased either way, however, I need yall opinion as to which car you would get were you in my situation. Also, I was wondering how expensive BMW car parts cost? Are tune ups and basic engine work expensive?
Thanks

The 740iL will probably have higher maintenance costs than a 3-series (more
gadgets, more stuff to break, probably more expensive parts in general).

Depends on what you are looking for........ fun and sporty??? or Laid back and comfortable (not saying the M3 is uncomforatable) It is just not a likely comparison, 2 completely different classes of cars.

Good point, in addition to costs, they're two different style vehicles.

Since the poster is 16 years old, I'd say go with the smaller 3-series, as
it's more of a 'young' car. The 740 is for old lawyers. [hihi]

The 3-series 2-door is also more sporty, compared to the 4-door.
