On 8/20 I got involved in a flash flood 15 minutes from home after a big storm hit. My K&N cone sucked up some water, my car died... never to restart



So my poor Audi is being parted out. Makes me sad....

Good news though is I got a new (CPO) car - and it's a FORD



2007 Focus ZX3 MTX - 2,700 miles on it (was 2,500 when i purchased it).

I've been pretty happy with it in the past week. It drives nicely, and while it's no BMW it was a LOT better than the other cars I looked at:

2003 VW Jetta w/ 40k on it ($13k) - airbag light was on, felt very sloppy when shifting
2006 Focus ZX3 w/ 25k on it ($12k) - no contest... it was yellow (UGLY), and had more miles
2006 Chevy Cobalt w/ 25k on it ($11k) - Can some one say CHEAP FEELING??
2003 Pontiac GTP w/ 58k on it ($13k) - burning oil smell on the highway
2001 Saturn L series / 50k on it ($6k) - CE light on, tire imbalance
1998 Nissan Sentra w/ 75k on it ($5k) - Not bad except for some body issues

Anyway... just thought I'd put the PSA out there... NEVER drive through a significant amount of water with a K&N cone filter!

Grunts seen the carnage before...

I would've liked another B5 but since my dad helped out with a down payment on the Focus we both agreed that for now this would be the car for me. In a few years when I have a solid job I'll probably get something nice (S4... M3)

Bummer on the water damage John.

Congrats on the new Focus. I originally purchased mine as a commuter, but after $10k in performance and appearance mods, its now a turbo beast. Feel free and let me know if you need any help modding.
