My problem is on my GF's E30 '88 325i. She had a gas leak near her fuel filter which took me a while to find as it was a tiny pin hole in a hard line. I fixed the leak, but the inside of her car smells of gas. The gas sprayed through the pin hole onto the rear floor of the car and got into the car somehow (seam or throught the big round grommet in the floor board) and soaked the rear carpet.
My question is; What is the trick, or best way to get the smell and the still wet gasoline out of the car without pulling and replaceing the whole carpet?
