Condensation Question

Hi all,

Just a question regarding condensation on the inside of the car. I went to move my Dad's car tonight, and noticed that the inside of the car, all the windows, were completely covered in thick condensation. It was cold outside, about 10degrees celsius, but I have never seen it like that before. There was no condensation whatsoever on the outside of the car, just the inside.

It was very thick as well, I took two photos with my phone but it's quite hard to see. Don't know if this is normal or not, figure that most of you guys experience fairly cold weather depending on where you live and might be more familiar with this sort of thing. As a note, my car was parked directly behind my Dad's when I went to move it and had no condensation at all, inside or out.

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light, might be completely normal just wanted to ask. Thanks!

PS
Demister hardly made a dent in it after being on for a couple of minutes.

Worked out what it was. There was a leak in the car somewhere, water got inside, causing it to condense on the inside of the car, obviously explains why the condensation was so damn thick. Have to replace all the interior carpets.

hahahaha, nah wouldn't take his car for that

yeah, apparently the leak caused it, but now bm dont want to pay for replacing the carpet as the car is no longer under warranty. one thing that is becoming ever more frustrating is the two year warranty, and as if to add salt to the wound, all bimmers from this year come with a three year warranty. seriously, the car was delivered in april 2004 and has just under 20,000kms, the last thing you expect is a water leak, and then for it not to be covered is just worse.

Yeap, that must hurt, especially now that a per-certified 2004 can come with an extended warranty up to 6 years from the time of 1st delivery or 100000 miles, whichever comes first...!!!
