KILLINGWORTH, Conn./EWORLDWIRE/Aug. 1, 2006 --- BMW Oracle Racing, the only U.S. Challenger for the America’s Cup – sailing’s most prestigious prize and the world’s oldest trophy in sport – came to New York’s Rockefeller Center June 15 and chose Zymöl to prepare the racing sailboat for public viewing.
The professional detailing team was headed up by Matt Bagley who is currently preparing cars for Zymöl customers who are showing their beauties at the Pebble Beach Concours next month in Monterey, California.
"We chose our best crew and products for use on this incredible boat," said Chuck Bennett, CEO of Zymöl. "We love challenges and preparing an 80-foot boat in the middle of Rockefeller Center was an experience we will never forget."
The event, supported by the team’s partners and sponsors - BMW, Oracle, Allianz and Girard-Perregaux - gave visitors a close-up look into the cockpit of the 80-foot, gleaming carbon fiber sailboat that sat at dock at the midtown Manhattan landmark. The 110-foot high mast towered over the racing yacht, standing in the same place as the traditional Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.
The exhibit was made possible through the support of team partners BMW and Oracle, main sponsor Allianz and associate sponsor Girard-Perregaux. The event was hosted by Tishman Speyer, co-owners of Rockefeller Center.
