Has anyone had this done to their car? Several of my customers swear by this application. My car has been detailed three times in six months, but doesnt seem to hold the wax (or should I say I dont get much beading) and has a dull, powdery look after I rinse the dust off......I cant do a quick wand power wash to rinse it off so it has to be hand washed twice a week........all my other black cars were not this bad.........[???1]

Not sure why your car would not still be like-new paintwise, My car is 2001 and its paint is very well preserved. When I wash it it like mirror. Even after it is dusty its still much more shineir than an average car.

I use Gold Class wax about every 3 months.,

Example: My car has been sitting at the airport all week (under a cover). It is very dusty......went to the hand power wash to rinse it.....the dirt is still there.......so I hand wash it at the car wash.......the dust and the wax just mix and comes out powdery looking........[?|] [?|] maybe they have so much wax on the car??????[???1] all my terry cloth towels just come out black..........

This is expensive, until you consider how much it saves you in the long run. It's called 5 star shine. No bull, just an honest opinion from a happy customer. It bonds at the molecular level with a very slippery substance. I live in Denver, it's cold now just about every day. Geese are leaving for warmer climates, recently while at work, my BMW has been bombarded with goose crap. It sticks like glue and ruins the finish if not removed. I applied the 5 star shine last weekend. During the week more goose droppings. I was about to wash the car, when I noticed it wasn't sticking, it was just laying on the finish. I was able to remove all the dropping with a clean dry rag. NO mess, simply amazing. I washed the car and didn't use any soap or scrubbing of any kind, just water with a little pressure, then chamois dry. Looks better than new. See http://www.5starshine.com/order-xmas.html

Sounds like you may need to ask your detailer what he's been using on your car, and possibly change the products to try something different. Or look for possibly a new detailer.

2 months is about right for waxings, but every 6 months or so, you should thoroughly clean off all old polishes/waxes then glaze and wax.

Not really expensive........the Ziebart is $300.00........and my detailing so far has cost $350.00 for the first detail and $175.00 each for the next two........the 5 Star sounds good too......I'll have to find me another detailer that will clean it and then apply the paint protection for $100.00.........then I'll have a deal.......

Vlad, I don't know what they use........the BMW dealership did the last two detailings.....and they always say......"trust me, we know what we are doing." [???1]

If they can't get a shine to last through 2 months and 3 washings, they do NOT know what they are doing!

I've always be a proponent for small detailing businesses, they seem to have a very good service. Ask around with people that you know, see if they know a good independent shop.

geze, last year there was a 6 month period where we didnt put any zanio on the MDX. We probably washed the car 10 times, the water beaded and the car was excelent shine the whole time. The next time we used zaino it did renu the shine back to what it was but it hadnt lost that much.

I have always been skeptical by those promises for multi year with no wax. For one, the ones that claim to use teflon to keep it on are complete crap. Yes they do work for some time but not for several years. teflon must be applied at 600 degree heat to bond to the surface, they put it on at room temp. I do not know how the 3-6 month ones are though, those might still work.
