Your ideas on a new radio-speakers..

Just took delivery of a new 330ci and the dealer didnt have one with HK so now I'm shopping around for an upgraded radio.

I'm looking for a decent radio/cd that fits well into the dash, 1 disc ok. decent sound, (I don't play a lot of loud hip-hop) and good speakers for at or around $500 bucks.

Need something simple but with good sound, all the electronic search/seek etc and tone controls mean zero to me, -all I want is a good sounding radio with a deep base and clear at medium to m/high volume.

What works and what have you liked and can recommend?

well, speakers dont produce very good bass frequencies. the reason being, they are mids, not subs. get yourself a set of components that will match the dash and current sizes, and a single 12" sub in the trunk for some bass.

ideas:

Stereo - Clarion Proaudio DXZ745MP

Speakers - not sure what size they are, but look into MB Quart, Focal, and Arc Audio for quality.

Amp and sub - (this is the cheapest, but still great sounding and most reliable sub/amp setup know to mankind) 1 12" JL Audio w0, and 1 JBL BP300.1.

The stereo is about $300 shipped off ebay, the speakers might run around $300, and the sub and amp both together are about $300 off ebay.
