what is up with porsche

i just saw a picture of the new porsche 911 in a magazine at Saks fifth avenue, then another one at neiman marcus. They are making the light looks liek the old porsches.. . I like the current porsche lights, and design.. Why are they going back in time.. ?

Sometimes you have to take a step back in order to go forward. Maybe their sales reflected that purchasers don’t feel the same as you, when it came to the lights. I wish BMW would take Bangle and his E60 back and bring back something that is as nice as the E39.

The Porsche mirrors look like a mix between the BMW M3 E36 and E46.

IT's been reported that a lot of Porsche owners didn't like how the headlights looked so much like the Boxsters. There's a very vocal group of old Porsche owners that liked the classical look of the 911. Retro is in anyways so Porsche went retro to please everyone.

There were a few problems.

1.) Loyal Porsche customers didn't like how the Boxster and the 911 look so similar.

2.) Loyal Porsche customers never liked the 996's headlights setup from the start. They prefer the round headlight setup which makes for a more edgy look.

The design is debatable, but I've seen one on the road already and I think Porsche is definitely heading in the right direction...better engine, better handling, better brakes, better exterior and interior....basically a better car.
I have found that the people who don't like the new 911 design are the ones who don't owned a Porsche and know very little about Porsche's heritage. So I have one thing to say: buy a Porsche and then let them know how you feel.

If the boxter and 911 look so similar, they should give those ugly headlights to the boxter.

Riding in one doesn't make you an owner of one. And lots of people have Porsches...whenever I go to Palm Beach I see tons of 911 Cabriolets driven by old people equipped with autotragic transmissions.
Porsche listens to their loyal customers...the true Porsche enthusiasts. Porsche's true customers wanted the old style headlights and that's what they got. If you know anything about Porsche and its history, you should immediately know that this 997 body is definitely a step forward.

Porsche is not about producing cars that sell. They're about making cars for people that have the true passion for driving. Granted they wanna stay in business (which is what the Cayenne was for), the 911 has a huge reputation among true auto enthusiasts and the look of the new 997 911 brings back the "edginess" that the 993 body had. The 996 body compared to the 993 was a step forward in "niceness" and "sleekness" (which is why you see SO many 996's running around) but it lost some "sportiness". The 997 body brings back that lost sportiness in a very beautiful and classy package. This car looks jaw-droppingly good and is clearly a sports car. Porsche. There is no substitute.
