Think about that, guys! Even though E92 was from the rumor, the regular 325, 330 - E90 is still an Inline 6. Like the V-10 M5, there will be a V-8 M3, they will properly named it E92. 'coz of different type of engine.

Stitch, the "E" name on the car is the body style, the engines have different names and I am sure that epj3 and some others could enlighten you on those. You used the M5 as an example..........any current 5 series is called an E 60 regardless of whats under the hood. The 525i is an E60, as is the 530i the 530d, the 530xi, the 545i and the M5...........even the station wagon is an E60. So no,... the the new M3 will still be an E90.

Nope, the E60 is everything but 5 touring, E61 is 5 touring, E63 is 6 coupe, e64 is 6 convertible. E65 is 7, E66 is 7 long wheel base, and E67 is long wheelbase/security.

Kind of weird since they didn't do that before.

That's just the Benz with a BMW front end grafted on. Look at the lines on the hood, Benz. Look at the curve of the rear windows, Benz. It's the Merc-Benz DTM race car, in everyway except the headlights. That's all I know about that.....=)
