Why does the new M5 come in such crappy colors?

If you go to the internation BMW website, you have a color selection for the E60 M5.. And all the colors are just.. dark and uninteresting... What happened to colors like Imola red (mmmmmm... ) and Electric blue.... Did anyone notice that you absolutely cant buy a red 5 series.. Unless you go bmw individual.. Same goes for some of the other series, just dark and unappealing colors..

It's probably because BMW's new designs looks so hideous in lighter colours. Remember how BMW always used silver cars in almost all their advertising, and now EVERY new 3 Series E90 ad shows a black or dark gray car? BMW even says that their designs look best in dark colours. There are so many odd, f--cked up shapes and design "themes" that black and dark colours have to be used to mask and hide the butt ugly lines. Just like fat people always wear black because it "is thinning"... BMW is trying to "thin" their odd and non-evolutional designs.

BMW does the same for some of their bike models. First year models are given low impact colors cause they're gonna sell whether its a boring color or something like red. Holding back the preferred colors for the next years keeps the ball rolling so to speak. IMHO

I thought it was because the M5 (and most BMW's) is supposed to be subtle and elegant in appearance, hence the subdued colors. It isn't something flashy like a Ferrari. To me it's the beauty of these cars.

No big deal, I hate colors anyways. I always only go with black or silver.
I bet your a real interesting person.

You can get any BMW in any color you know, I'd like the old CSL job, without the stickers.

I saw a red"dish" M5 a few weeks ago and thought that it looked absolutely gorgeous....then again in my mind a primered M5 would look gorgeous.

ROFL! Nice one eric, the resemblance is just great.

Just because bmw's are elegant doesnt mean they should be offered in shitty colors. It would be a lot better if there was a greatly expanded option for colors when you get a sports package for any of the series, that would make sense as I rather be driving a sport cars that stands out rather than making people think, "eww the color.."
