Well, about a week and a half ago, I found a nice little surprise on my 5 when I came back to the parking lot. This happened late night on Saturday at some parking lot close to Fair Oaks Mall. Some of you might have already read about this, but for those of you who haven't, someone obviously hit my front bumper and drove off. I guarantee you it was either a minivan or an SUV. Whoever it is though, I hope they break their femur.

That sucks man. At least nothing really looks damaged, just the bumper sort of fell off. People should take responsibilty for their mistakes, but i guess they'll always be jerks in this world.

I thought it wasn't that bad either until I realized the bumper frame was bent. I went to the dealership and I got the prices for the three parts that I need.

1. Primed front bumper: $345
2. Bumper carrier (metal thing that's bent): $194
3. Front left wheel housing cover: $65.25

Total is $604.25. I guess I'm going to do it myself since it's not that complicated and I don't see the point in taking it into a shop when anybody can fix it, as long as they have the parts. Well, shit happens.

Oh man, I know how you feel. Sorry to hear about this. Today, somebody stole the headlight housing's of my brother's 03 Lexus RX300. He was at his high school taking an exam and when he came back to his car, both headlights were completely gone (not just the bulbs, the whole housings). It's not even my car and I'm soooo pissed off about it...people are so ridiculous.

Damn that's worse than what I have to deal with, sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure that getting new ones (OEM) will be no less than $1,000.

Yeah, it's really annoying. $2,400 to replace the headlights, not including labor and the damage the idiots did to the hood.
Man, if I ever witnessed somebody harming my car, they would pay dearly.

The same thing happened to me with my old car (2001 Acura TL). I went to the gym, parked in a well lit parking lot and when I got back to my car both headlights were gone! [mad] It ended up costing $2200 dollars to get the car fixed, luckily my insurance covered it. There are some real f@cking losers out there that should all be shot!

Sorry to hear about your car Dinan55, I know how you feel.

Sorry to hear that Dinan55. Did you look into how much more the M5 bumper would cost? At least some good can come out of it. Just an [idea]

That would be a good idea, but then I'd have to go all the way and change everything, and with the current crap going on in my life right now, I don't think I'll have the money to do that anytime soon. Besides, I've seen poser 5 series before with a complete M5 makover, including the badge (turned out to be an automatic, of course) and it didn't look that good. There's just something about the M5 that makes it unique, no conversion works.
