Where is a good ground location in the dash/console??

I have horrible alternator whine and I want to kill myself. My DVD player is mounted in the glove box. I made the mistake using the factory ground with an extension. I would like to know the best place arround the glove box to get a good clean ground for the player.

I would say that metal piece the air bag mounts to is a pretty good place to ground it. As far as I remember it is bolted to the rest of the car in many different places and has good, solid contacts everywhere. You can just use one of the bolts the airbag is bolted with.

I dont have a passenger air bag... Sorry to be a bother but do you know of any other place that would be good?

Well, I did take apart the whole lower part of the dash, so ...

I am just trying to figure out the sipliest way you know. I don't believe there is an easy way to ground where the HU is, you'd have to drill a hole for that. Since I don't know what is there and what is not without the airbag, take out the glove compartment and see if you see any piece of bare metal, if not, you can go further, take out the OBC and ground it there to one of the vertical posts. You would have to drill a hole and I think you would have to take some more pieces off to lay the wire but it sure would be a good ground.
