I drive over 100 miles a day back and forth to work plus weekend driving, So I am putting on 26,000 plus miles a year on the car. The 528 is my daily driver.

I need a cost effective brand that handles well, low noise, and a good tread life too.

I saw the Tire pole and I dont know if I want Michelins.

Any Suggestions?

definitely start with selecting from the "all weather" category to handle rain, dry and snow. If you're in NC then that eliminates super-high performance types and most high performance types.

Welcome aboard Dan! (you are the third welcome tonight alone..)
try tirerack.com they have a pretty good user feedback database on various tires. that's a pretty good place to start, esp under the heading tread life. imo

altho i hate a/s (all season) tires, where you live, it might not be too bad. esp since high perf summers have really short treadlife. w/ your 26k milage, it may not last to see a second year.. and with so much temp variance (according to weather.com for next 10 days anyway) btw day and night, having separate winter/ summer tire sets don't seem much of a solution. (high perf compunds start getting hard around 40F or so, giving up a bunch in traction, even in dry conditions..) just be careful tho, not all a/s tires are created equal, and some of them are just horrid in the snow. (look for a m+s (mud+snow) designation on the tire.)
