What is shadowline exterior trim?

I noticed that shadowline exterior trim is listed on the sport package for all 5 series and a number of other cars including mine.

Is this the black trim on the sides and bumpers? I thought it was until looking at pictures of the 5 with sport package and they look the same in terms of trim as the non-sport 5s.

I was under the impression that that shadowline trim was the black exterior trims instead of the brushed chrome look around the windows etc. In my part of the world seems common with the motorsport upgrade.
