What does GmbH stand for?

I've noticed lately that the letters "GmbH" have appeared on the high-performance divisions of both Mercedes AMG and Audi S. They're not on the car itself, but instead are somewhere on the site. When GmbH is looked up, it is a German acronym for "Gesellschaft mit beschraenkter Haftung" which translates to "company with limited liability." What the hell does this mean?

When you incorporate, or create a GmbH or an LTD, your personal assets are untouchable in the event of a lawsuit. You can sue the company, but not the owner(s).

GmbH(Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung) is German for Corporation or "Inc".

GMBH is LLC, as noted above (similar to British LTD.)

AG (Aktiengesellschaft) is the Corporation/Inc. equivalent in German.
