What do you think of my new Mercedes SLR?

Saw this in the Sharper image catalog today, needless to say I went right to the store to buy it. For $30 im quite impressed, its made my Maisto which always makes great models but I think they outdone themselves on this one. It is 1:18 scale and the detail is great. Trivia: This is a production model of the Mercedes SLR McLaren, there is one part however that is taken from the concept SLR that was never released on the production SLR. What is that part?

THe only Maisto model I have is of the BMW Z8 (red). The detail is good though

Is the thing on the concept that didnt go in production, the clear white taillights?

anyone else think that the rims are horrendous?

EDIT: Whats up with the rims? the front and back are going in different directions, i sure hope the REAL one isnt like that!

well kev, while u mentioned it in the wrong spot, the item not goign into production is the wheels. Those wheels were for the concept but did not make it to the production model. Everything else about the car is production, including those tail lights (though the model isnt the best representation).

Oh phew! Those rims are absolutely hideous, good thing they didnt make it! I was thinking of the Vision SLR....those have clear taillights

I have a horrible m3 model, its so bad that the front wheels are on a solid axel, so u cant move em!

but that SLR is beautiful, top notch quality. I wish i still had my old models..

Funny that was posted over the weekend. I happened to stop by the local Mercedes dealership in Bamberg Germany, and take a wild guess at what they had on display.....the SLR. I had gone in to get some overrated E320 stats to post on THIS board and that "thing" of awe was there. I almost nutted on my self. Could not touch it of course (at 1,200,000 euro I would have been scared to). Have they pitted it up againt the Enzo and if they did...who would win?
