I got to drive a MINI Cooper S today. To tell you the truth, I was pretty impressed. The thing handles incredibly well and has tremendous grip, and it's REALLY quick. As for the styling, I like it, it doesn't stand out but still remains "different." It's just a BMW with FWD. I think it's the perfect car if you live in a city or something, what do you think of it?

I'd get it if I lived in the City. My g/f wants to move back to SF eventually. If that happens, I'd buy a Mini if I needed a car to commute. But in the land of the monster SUV (Los Angeles) with idiot drivers, it'd be a deathtrap.

At first, I hated the MINI. But then I saw The Italian Job and I am now past all the gayness of it. It looks like a really kickass car, there should just be an even faster version than the MINI Cooper S. That model does 0-60 in 6.9 seconds and there is the optional John Cooper Works kit, but that costs like $4K and only improves 0-60 time to 6.4 seconds.
I have serious plans to purchase (finance) a MINI and mod the shit out of it when the lease of the G35C is done.

I am trying so hard to get my mom to buy one. Her SUV is dieing now (Isuzu Trooper '95), slowly but surely. Had a factory recall letter in the mail the other day too, for a dust cover over the throttle, they say the throttle can get dust in it and stick! That'd be scary, especially if my mom was driving when it happened!!!

Anyway, she has no money right now, but my dad is getting a settlement from workers comp., so they'll have some money then, and they are movin into a smaller place. I think I am buggin her so bad just cuz I want to borrow it lol. I have heard they are quite nice. Maybe I'll see if I can test drive one at the dealership on Tuesday when I go pick up my ordered parts.

A friend of ours got a Mini about a year ago. I liked them before she got the Mini, after seeing them up close I like them even better. I've seen them in the hands of a good driver at an Autocross event, they handle like a go kart and kick butt! There is a huge performance aftermarket developing for the Mini.

Everytime I see one I want to pick it up and go "VRRoOOmmm VVVrrroooMMM!", since its about the size of a MatchBox car. The 3 series is about as small as I can go... Now if I was a foot shorter and 100lbs ligher I might consider it.
