hi, i left home in sept to go to college, and when i returned in mid nov, all i expected was my baterry too be dead. ok i was fine with that, but on closer inspection i saw that the hood was popped, as if it was opened from the inside. the main big latch was hooked and working as simple as it is. but the hood remains to sit 1/2 inch up from where it should rest. if i take one finger and not pushing down that hard, the hood goes down to the proper position, where it should be when closed, then when i let go it raises a half inch - so with that i see that it is not obstructed on trying to close. i cleaned all arount the edges etc, nothing. i lubed various areas, i took my car out to drive thinking it was some weird temp difference for the cables or metal latches not moving in so long. i havnt heard much about this type of problem, at least where i look.
