Site Announced for New Regional Parts Distribution Center

Woodcliff Lake, NJ - BMW of North America, LLC has selected Stockton, California for the site of its fifth regional Parts Distribution Center and will begin construction in the coming weeks.

The 250,000 square-foot facility, designed to grow with BMW, will support 44 BMW and MINI dealerships in the region, which includes northern California, Northern Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. The center will accommodate inventory for all BMW and MINI vehicles - about 70,000 different parts - and will employ about 50 people. Most of those employees will be hired locally. Completion of the new distribution center, to be located in the Airport Gateway Center Industrial Park, is scheduled for May, 2005.

STockton huh? Not gonna pay much then. Low cost of living there and I think the city has an average of a 3rd grade education or something like that. My g/f went to school there and that's what she remembers hearing. After talking to strangers in the supermarket, that might be right.

And I think Stockton has one of the highest per capita murder rates in the state of CA and in the US. I've driven thru Stockton on the 5 freeway. My friends/business associates in Modesto told me I should not stop there.

Wow I'm surprise that even people in PA know about this. [:p]

Yeah it used to be pretty bad, but has gotten better. I guess it depends on which section you visit.

It's only bad towards the south side of Univ. of Pacific. North of there has a lot of new developments. I'm talking 4-8 bedroom houses. They've got developments with manmade rivers and each house has a dock on the backyard.

But South. yeah, it's scary. Particularly near that dock thingy.
