The only thing that's getting old is your self-righteousness. I don't mind if some one posts something that I don't agree with (I see it all the time); I don't even care if they do a little name-calling. All I ask is for the ability to do the same -- the ability to post a response to that post without somebody else calling me out on it. But I do have a problem when the mods delete certain politicized/inappropriate posts but not others -- I realize that's up to their discretion, but what I've noticed is poor judgement in many cases.
Your respone is typical. Instead of responding to the initial problematic controvertial post, you reply to my, as you deem, inappropriate response. Your claim that "every time someone has a different viewpoint, or there is a post that directly contradicts your post you immediately go on a personal attack and rant to get your point across" is problematic for three reasons. 1) It is a GROSS misgeneralization; 2) it is exaggerated in terms of its portrayed frequency ("every time"?? Please, find the # of posts where you feel I personally attack somebody, divide that figure by the number of my total posts, and please forward the % to me); and 3) it ignores the fact that this type of "discussion" is not all that uncommon on this board.
Gus's post can be seen as inflammatory for at least two reasons. First, it can be said that it uses the term "homosexual" in a deragatory and slanderous manner, as I'm sure some of my left-minded colleagues would be quick to point out. Secondy, it can be seen as equally if not more offensive to Catholic members.
But regardless of where you stand on those issues, the bottom line is that Gus's comments have absolutely no automotive or BMW relevance and they are offensive, yet his comments are allowed to stand??? Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I can't help but wonder if the reason why Gus's post is allowed to remain posted is because its message seems to coincide with Kirby's left-leaning political views. Furthermore, I'm sure you haven't forgotten our little, civil "debate" regarding the merits of SMG, and for this reason, your response and its tone do not surprise me in the slightest.
Please PM me if you would like to discuss this matter in greater detail.
BTW. I found this link in regards to the Mercedes and BMW Popemobiles. I thought Mercedes had a contract for the Popemobile. Check out BMW's X5 4.8 proposal.
