ok... i thought id get some votes going here. type....
1-if you think Chris Bangle should be hired
2-if you think Chris Bangle should be fired
After typing a number type out how many votes for which number there are so we can get the votes counted easier. for example....
this is my vote!!!....2....
the person after me will put their number and say they pick 1 they'll put
i vote...1....
1-hired
1-fired
say the person after puts 2 for their vote that person would put
i vote...2...
1-hired
2-fired.................k?its easy Please keep the comments to a minimum, [bmwdance] thank you for your time.

Do you think that BMW sales wouldn't be up if it weren't for Bangle, keep in mind BMW is now the largest luxury automaker, thanks to Bangle.
In all honesty, I do not think Bangle can be given credit to BMW being the #1 Luxury automobile maker. I am almost 100% convinced it is due to the fact that Mercedes-Benz has taken such a direct sales/publicity hit due to their horrific reliabilty, especially here in the States and back in Germany. I think Bangle just lucked out.

You don't think BMW's have gotten better (strickly) quality, in the last five years?

Honestly No, but in the last 5 years BMW still had the good 5 Series in production (E39), the good 7 Series, no Z4 and no X3. So from 2001-2006, BMW's reliability was much, much better than Mercedes'. Check Intellichoice, Consumer Reports, JD Powers, AAA, German ADAC, etc.

So I think BMW's success in being the #1 Luxury Automobile is due to the fact that their product was better in reliabilty, as Mercedes' reliability took the worst nosedive in their 150+ years of Automotive mastery. I do think that BMW's reliability record is somewhat tarnished now if you compare it to their 2000-2003 period.
