A few weeks back, we had a discussion about BMW revamping their production line at the SC plant. That discussion was here:

http://www.bmwboard.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14586&highlight=plant

I said that I would take video the next time I visited my parents, and I did a few weeks ago. I'm just now getting around to getting it uploaded to some crappy free webservice, so here it is.

In the video, you can see the interchange that BMW says isn't big enough for their trucks, the plant with the outer wall torn off, and where the new $35 million interchange is being built.

It's not a great video (I have a great camera, but I don't have good video software), but some of you may be interested in seeing it after the discussion we had a few weeks ago.

I hope this works - it's a 10 MB wmv file. Click the link below, then right click the link on that page to download it to your machine to watch it.

I get 28 mpg highway in my eta-powered 325 with 275,000 miles.

The museum is definitely very cool. It's been years since I've been there. To give you an idea of how long it's been since I've been there, the last time I was there, they were just starting production on the Z3 coupes. I remember that the museum had an original race-prepped E30 M3, a gorgeous 507 roadster, a Z1, and I think an F1 car if my memory serves me correctly. They of course also had a whole section on BMW motor cycles and lots of memoriabilia and stuff. The museum is free to the public. Plant tours cost only $5, $3.50 if you are a BMWCCA member or a student.
