Hi, I drive a 2005 BMW 325 Ci with around 15,000 km on it.

I had an accident this week, and the front right tyre blew.
The tyres that came with the car are Bridgestone 225/45/17 ER 30 Turanza's.

Now, I'd like to know what to do ?
Should I just change the blown tyre, or buy 2 new front tyres, or change the entire set ? or what ?

Around how much is a tyre's lifetime anyway ?
I'm a pretty sporty driver. Would you consider 15,000 km around 50% of a tyre's lifetime ? or 70% ? or what ?

I'd like to know what the best course of action could be. Any help would be much appreciated.

Just replace the "blown" tire unless your tread wear is excessive. Most tires do not come with a road hazard warranty which is what you would need with if you blow a tire out. I purchase a road hazard warranty from my supplier. Tire tread life depends on the rubber compound and driver's style. An average tire with an average driver would last between 30 - 50k. Remember that a performance tire may only last 10 - 15k.

There's a problem. the ER 30 turanza tread is not available here.
So i'm gonna be buying potenza s-03's.
Everybody i know told me it's best to have the same tread on the same axle, therefore i have to buy 2.

Now would it be safe to have 2 potenza's (performance tyres) on 1 axle and 2 turanza's (touring tyres) on the other; or should I change the whole set ?

I would not put two different tires on my car on the same axle either. I am sure it is safe to have two different types on the the front v the rear, but I would just buy four if it was me.

If I were you, I would get one new tire or two new tires, depending on the level of wear you are experiencing. I would definitely not run two different sets of tires on one vehicle. I do not think you should replace all four tires, there must be some way to get your hands on the tire that came with your vehicle.
