Trunk Emblem .. how do you get it on?

Hi!

I recently bought a trunk emblem for my car off of ebay. (The original was chipped )
Now I can't seem to find out how to access the old emblem to switch it for the new one.


Can anyone help ? It's a 93' 318 i

I did what someone else on the board told me to do. I used a screw driver with a towel under it to to pry it off. I broke both grommets holding it in though, but they were like less than a dollar each, so no biggie.

Did you pop it off from the outside or get to the emblem from inside the trunk?

I was trying to access it from the inside of the trunk .. or is it supposed to be done from the outside? I wouldn't be surprised if I wasn't supposed to be poking around inside the trunk! lol

You cannot access it from the inside. You need to use a small falt bladed screwdriver and a towel. Gently pry up on the roundel and work your way around it lifting a little at a time. You must replace the grommets with new ones as the old ones usually will not hold the new roundel. Clean the area, apply wax if desired, install the new grommets and then line up the new roundel...gently pushing down on it with your palm working it into the grommets

I replaced the front/rear roundels on my 528e.

Do as Big Daddy says. They will pop right off ~ be gentle...
