I have an '06 530i and I'm finally thinking of upgrading to a bluetooth phone. I am a Sprint subscriber and want either a blackberry or treo 700p. Am I going to have problems pairing the phone with my new 5 series? BMW tells me they won't pair at all, but I want to confirm this (I don't necessarily believe everything I hear from the manufacturer). I've read loads of threads claiming incompatibility, but I want the real scoop.

Thanksl.

I know a lot people on the blackberry forum i'm a member of got their blackberry to sync with their car, and provide hands-free operation.

If you do find out both work, unless you want games definitely go with the blackberry. I have the 7130e from Verizon and it kicks ass.

A lot of the software problems between the car and the phone can be solved with www.jetwaremobile.com download. It is $15.00 and there is a 30 day trial period to see if it helps. BMW has recommended phones on their website that have major problems and do not list phones that do work. Jetware is worth a try!! Good luck.........
