With this.

They had already entered the craftsman truck series a few years ago and the day the current Camry shape was unveiled i had predicted that this was the reason. Back when Ford still ran the taurus and dodge the intrepid as their NASCAR entries.

Online polling suggests that 46% of NASCAR fans disagree with Toyota entering the sport.

Now, by no means am I a NASCAR fan, however, i find it an interesting point of discussion!

I like NASCAR but am not fanatical about it. I guess we will have to wait and see how they do. On another point, I have always hated the "TRD" on the sides of Toyota trucks. At first I thought it meant "Turd"! Hehe...

Homeless: Rednecks everywhere ARE revolting hehehehee

As for Toyota, how long do you think before they get one of the big players of NASCAR behind them, and what do you think it will do for the general NASCAR fanbase?

I've never been a fan of NASCAR, but it sure brings in money, and not just money, fans. I think they have numbers of NBA, MLB, NHL and NFL put together NASCAR has a huger fans base, which is a huge marketing venue.

Personally I think that the number of people who don't want them in NASCAR has to be higher then just 46%, try 80%. These are the people that are in love with Dodge, GM and Ford, and want to keep it that way. I have been to a few races in the past few years and if you want to find luxury cars you'll see BMW 7ers not Lexus, in fact probably 5 percent of the parking lot has non-American cars. You better believe it!

TRD? What's wrong with that? Toyota has made some of the best racing engines - especially in american series.
I have no problem with their racing division, in fact I did not even mention them, what I mentioned was having "TRD" or TURD on the side of my vehicle. I have a very good friend with a really nice Toyota pickup, he had them remove the "TRD" decals before he would accept delivery on the truck. I do not even like Chevrolets "4X4" and "ZR71" decals, but at least they do not spell turd! [rofl]

hahahaha, i love how the nascar fans are so pissed off about this. talk about living in the past. i bet it will be a very very short time before toyota dominates this "sport" (*shudder*)

hahahhaahahaha, good bye taurus, goodbye monte carlo, it's about time that they bite the dust to companies that are progressive with their technologies, and very careful with their designs.

What would be even better is if they get talented italians to drive for the team [clap]

Isn't antiquated technology written into the rules? The cars are nothing like the ones they're shaped to look at in terms of tech.

pushrod V-8's O_O

Regardless Toyota's craftsman truck entries arent that shabby, just that whenever there illegal or borderline illegal moves against them they are very easily overlooked by organizers which is a shame....
