Gasoline retailers must meet the high TOP TIER standards with all grades of gasoline to be approved by the automakers as providing TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline.

In addition, all gasoline outlets carrying the brand of the approved retailer must meet the TOP TIER standards.

Additional gasoline retailers are added to the TOP TIER list as they meet the standards. The retailers known to be on the TOP TIER list are shown below.

TOP TIER Gasoline Retailers:

What happened to shell turning injectors yellow??? Also what about exxon-mobil and BP-Amocco? I use exclusively BP with the occasional Sunoco.

I've always been happy with Chevron....but I've recently been going to QuickTrip cuz they are so much less expensive and my car seems to like their gas just fine. Glad to see my two on the list!

Good info to know.

I wish there was more info on gas stations. I always stay away from AM/PM, I don't know why but my cars have always seemed to run a little ruffer after a trip to AM/PM. I purchase most of my gas on a military bases and thank goodness when the truck comes to fill it up, CHEVRON is always on the side of it.

Hehe, they look so abandoned, because they are so expensive. :)

The gas I use mainly is Chevron. I have used this gas for many years and love it. Err, my car loves it

However, I have to admit lately (3 tanks) I have used Sams Club, Costco, and Arco. I know, I know, but the gas was so damn cheap. So far my car hasn't decided not to start for me. Then again, I haven't started my car in about a week.

I do not know how true this is, but I heard that if the gas pump is fast when fully opened it is a sign of clean tanks? I began watching for this and noticed that when I stopped at an Arco Am-Pm (not my car...) with a friend and the pump was s...l...o...w. I watched later as I filled my tank at the Costco (Federal Way) and that thing was FAST, you could hardly keep up with it as it turned!

Hmm, I wonder if this is true. I am going to keep an eye out just to see what I find... Very interesting..

Luckily, the Arco I used just re-opened. They had all their tanks changed out. You know the law...

I can, SUNOCO is good and they (& their customers) know it and don't need anyone to tell them they are. In other words, they're not on the sites payroll.

Shell does come as a surprise...
