This last Sunday, I went for a drive up in the mountains for about 100 miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a beautiful day - perfect for driving. Nice and cool, very clear, and sunny. This was the first time I've really used my new digicam extensively - I was impressed with its performance.

Plus, the E30 performed beautifully - it really felt at home on the twisty mountain roads in cool fall weather. [headbang]

Driving on I-40W towards the mountains

This was the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway that I took - I got on in Asheville, NC.

One of the numerous tunnels on this stretch of the parkway:

The tallest peak in the middle in this picture is Mt. Mitchell - the highest point East of the Mississippi River:

This next picture is the Linn Cove Viaduct - the last part of the Blue Ridge Parkway to be completed. This is a really cool, very complex bridge that winds around the side of Grandfather Mountain.

Very very nice Justin! You have to love the mountains in the fall. The color of the trees changing is one of the best scenery you can ever experience....

Great photos....Thanks!

I really miss the Smokies. Auburn is nice, but they don't have any mountains down here. They think this is hilly. Pfft. Back home, I could never see a horizon for a ridge. I can't wait to be back up there around Turkey Day and Christmas. I'll be taking a trip or two up to Cade's Cove for sure. You're a lucky duck for being there now.

Gorgeous, those are some beautiful pictures.

Only in the first picture you're doing about 80 and according to the temp indicator the engine is still cold? (well going by how the e46 works it's centered when the engines at operating temperature)

Thanks for the compliments, guys! It was a beautiful day - I had lots of fun.

BMW 325i 7803 - That is the appropriate operating temperature for the E30. I had been on the interstate for about an hour and fifteen minutes doing between 70-80 mph prior to when that picture was taken, so no worries as far as engine temp goes!
