Today I went to the dealership and picked up my reflectors for the rear of my car to replace the cheap ass black plastic inserts my 5er came with. As I was in the dealership I looked out the window and noticed something funny about the way my car looked, so I asked the sales rep to look and see if he noticed anything funny. He says,"yeah, your rear door is the WRONG COLOR!!!!." I have the silver grey metallic paint and due to the weather recently there has not been much sun so I never noticed this before. The door I had repaired from the asshole who slammed it with his/her car door was painted a different shade of grey than the rest of my car. This sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!50,000 DOLLAR CAR WITH MISMATCHED PAINT Now I am PISSED. Now that I have seen it....I cannot "un-see" it.[?|]

Man that sucks!! I would take it back and raise hell to get it repainted. Did they do a computerized color match?

When I had my Euro license plate holder painted for a bargain at $35, the shop INSISTED that I bring the car in so they could test the color of the existing paint with a computerized system to guarantee the color match. I was impressed that they took that much concern for a license plate holder! They told me that BMW Titanium silver color actually varies a bit out of the factory so doing a good match is critical. It sounds like that also applies to the silver gray.

dude, how did you not see it the first time... my picky ass would be eagle eye all over that shit. crazy.

i let a chick drive my car one night on a cruise down to gulf shores and she saw the car infront swerve but decided to drive right over the fully intact road gator! WTF!
i hammered that huge dent right out and the shop painted this piss yellow white. they said when you get a color code, such that bmw provides, you still have to match it to the car based on aging.... uhg. made them redo it in a second.

Quite odd actually, when it was cloudy (which it is ALL THE TIME HERE) I couldn't see it. Even standing to the side of it on a sunny day it wasn't obvious. It took a SUPer sunny day standing at an angle from the car to see it. After that I could not "un-see" it.
