That is the Z9, the successor of the old Z8. ETS is 2008 with V8 and V10 engines. V8 could be the omne we´ll see in the upcoming M3 and the V10 the one they use in M5 and M6. Completely new: the engine will be mounted as mid engine. not front as until today. that could be interesting, not?

It's like a 6er on fire, and mid engine finally, this might be a fake but the only people that know if its real is BMW. There has been a lot of talk about the Z9 (well the concept) but never bring the Z8 nameplate back.

Especially if it's an MR layout. BMW need to make a real sporting supercar IMO.
No kidding! I mean BMW already has what it takes to build a supercar; good engines. They should take another attempt at a true supercar and this could be a good start.....

The Z9 isnt the succesor of the Z8.. The Z8 was a pure retro roadster. The Z9 is supposed to be a supercar...
I hope so. Maybe it is because we have a Z8, but if this is the succesor to the Z8...I think it is a slap in the face, and a horrible "new model".

If it is it's own new Model, the "Z9"...then it isn't too bad. Think the side vents are too much of a Porsche rip-off, and I don't think the headlights or grill are aggressive or hot enough to be a "Super Car".

Just my 2 cents.

We think our Z8 Alpina is absolutley timeless. We just purchased the extra warranty from BMW (the Z8 in the past was not eligible for the warranty...but BMWNA changed their mind). We are soooo planning on keeping the Z8.

I have to agree.

BTW, your Z8 is sweet!

Adam I told you this before, but I think your Z8 is “one” of the nicest BMW's on this planet. An Alpina Z8 has to be very rare. I don't know the production numbers, but I am sure there weren't that many made. If you ever decide to sell please look me up first. I am not sure if I would have enough money for her, but I sure would do my best to find it....

If I were you I would hold onto it forever and take it to as many car shows as I could. I would keep it original sans a few small things here and there. It really is a show quality BMW. I am sure many people including BMW enthusiasts; even know BMW made an Alpina Z8. You're a lucky man.....

Thanks so much Scott...what a great response [:)] We do love our "Pina", as she is lovingly referred to as.

BMW made 555 Alpina Roadsters for worldwide production...we are #538. So yeah...she is very rare. Even here in L.A., we have only seen 1 other Alpina (silver with red leather).

The Alpina is an absolute blast to drive (although the M3 is easier to drive)...but the attention the Z8 creates is always fun!!!!

With the M3, Z8 Alpina, and the 4.8 X5, you certainly have the expertise to make that judgment (although the M3 is easier to drive). What fun to get up and have to decide between the M3 and Z8.

I do know that with the Z8 sitting in the garage, I wouldn't feel so bad about having the M3 as a daily driver. It really is the best of both worlds. I can only imagine what kind of attention the Z8 brings, because I do know how much attention the M3 draws. What fun!....
