That's the first real widespread consumer application I have seen for true nanotechnology. Looks great!! Those stupid stain resistant pants that they were claiming to use nanotechnolgy was bull. It had nothing to do with true nanotechnology. Now, I want to see those nanoparticles multicolored, and by applying a low voltage to the body, the particles will change color and I can change the color of the car!!
BMW is using a new clear coat technology for the '04 3 series from Regensburg, but not nanotech. The clear coat is now a
Powder Coating technology. They got rid of all solvents to be more environmental friendly. This actually started in 1997.
Things like air conditioning, radios, intermittent wipers, electric windows, electric locks, etc. that are usually standard on new cars today were options years ago. Even the clear coat that is on most cars today was an option at one time, so this will take the same route. It will be on high end cars, then an option on all cars, and in 10 years it will probably be standard on all cars.
