So I've got to confess something....

I don't have a BMW....

it gets worse...

I don't even have a car....

worse yet....

I don't even have my licence!

Do you all still love me? Sorry, I just wanted to post this for some reason. But to my defense, I really like Bimmers, and I have a savings account all ready (for an E30 325is hopefully) saved up from my paper route, now its just a matter of getting older.... I'm only 14. I can drive a stick though (well, in a parking lot).

Don't feel like you have to clean up your posts because of young'ins hanging around, I'm pretty confident that I have a sicker mind than most of you anyways (3 cheers for puberty!).

I really don't know how you can reply to this, I just wanted to get that off my [hairless] chest [paranoid]

I think everybody is past the whole "OMG YOU DONT HAVE A BMW" phaise, thanks in part to strong competition and lots of members being dissatisfied with the new look. Many members, for example, considered the G35 (Coupe and Sedan) before investing in their new 3-series, I'm just one who actually went the other way!! [xx(]

I never would have guessed you were 14, but your enthusiasm for BMW and lack of owning one isn't something you should be afraid of. BMW loves potential customers like us.

Whatever, at least you know what you want and like. This board is for BMW enthutiasts ( how ever it's spelled) and you fit the bill! When I was your age I had an Alfa Romeo ( I lived in New Zealand for a part of my life) but always wanted a Bimmer. Stay true to your heart!

Yep, BMW loves potential owners like you guys much more than those of us that drive E30 BMWs that just don't die!
You mean because since the car doesn't die, you don't feel the need to buy a new one? If that's the case, it doesn't matter. You roll up to any BMW dealership in that E30 and the mechanics cream their pants.

As for my point, I was implying that once we do take that plunge, we'll get a BMW and never look back.

I know what you were saying. What I was saying is that you guys have the potential to buy a new $40,000 BMW. Since the E30s just keep on ticking, BMW doesn't make any money off of us.

I've never received any attention from any of the mechanics at my local BMW when I pull up in my E30 and park around back by the service bays. Why would they give my $1500 car any attention when they have service bays full of E46 M3s and E31 850s??

Because your BMW is a CLASSIC and part of what originally made BMW great in the first place. If you get no respect from your dealership for your car, the dealership should be destroyed. I know that the dealership is a business and wants to make $$$, but I would HOPE that at least one person at the dealership can appreciate an E30.
I guess it's an issue of ethics vs $$$, and $$$ usually wins. One thing they do realize is that you are a potential customer. Having that BMW roundel on your hood is more than enough justification for salesmen and mechanics to be jumping all over you, trying to convince you on the new BMW's. Obviously, there is a huge price difference between your car and a new BMW, but you will be able to afford a BMW in your future, and the dealership should know that if they treat you right every time you show up, you WILL remember that when it's time for that brand-spankin-new BMW!! Well, I must say that I have always been treated well by the BMW section of the local dealer (and especially the parts guys), but I've always been ignored by the salespeople in the Mini section.

No biggie. It's cool you like BMWs at your age. When I was 14, I was thinking rice rockets like Hondas (still think it's a great company) and stuff. Couldn't expand my mind to appreciate handling and junk.

And don't worry. We really don't care if you own a BMW or not. It's not a requirement to be here. It's just that people often use this site to ask questions and you usually have more questions if you actually have a BMW to create the questions.

Dude, good for you. When I was 14 I fell in love with BMWs. My best friend's (at the time) father had a brand 1997 5-Series and I remember riding in it and just loving every detail of it. I also remember thinking how much I wanted a Bimmer, but always thought I would never be able to get one. Good for you for dreaming and following your dreams; and trust me, when you're able to slap the $$ down for your bimmer it'll be one of the proudest days of your life, at least for me it was. Good luck and welcome.

And btw, my confession would have to be, sometimes when I'm intimately driving with my 318Is, I'll be secretly thinking and fanasizing about an 850Csi. But what she doesn't know won't her me, right? lol.

Sean
