... are you in?

I've got 107k on the clock of my e39 (with more than 60,000 miles accumulated in the past 2 years).

She still rides like new with no major issues, yet.
Not sure when "major issues" typically emerge nor what they are.

How many miles (above 100k) does your ride have?
How many miles do you think your ride will go before it dies?

The highest I've personally heard of for the e39 is 278k and it's still rolling (with a new tranny installed at 252k miles).

My '99 323ic has about 125K on it. Going strong, with TLC it should break 200K.

My '94 325i has/had 143K on it, ran like a screamin' banshee until the accident. But hopefully it will be a phoenix and rise from the ashes, if I have my way (and a lot of luck!).

I had 120k on a 95 E34 540i, but that one had a new engine due to the nikasil issue. The short block was replaced at about 100kplus miles.
Then I had 98k on the 2000 E39 540i when I sold it. It was in excellent shape.

Now the C4S has just rolled over 80k. I pray that the engine doesn't fail, but usually if it makes it this far, it's quite safe to assume it's one of the reliable batches. Isn't it sad that for that kind of money, you're still not assured of a top quality bulletproof reliable engine!?

Here's mine, I just recently sold it [thumbd] , had too, but It had about 205,000 miles on it and is still going strong. A friend of my wife bought it and I see it every once and a while, they think it's funny to rub it in, ya know, selling my baby. ANYWAY, here's the pic from when it "joined" the 200,000 mile club. Can't wait for my next Bimmer.......

My A4 is at 113000 right now running strong *knock on wood*. The Land Rover is at about 108k and the only thing holding that engine together is stop leak because the head gasket is just about done.

I am glad to see that engines have improved much. My last one was a 320i bougth second hand in 1987- it had the old 6 cyl. After 100,000 km, evry change of gear was accompanied with a plume of smoke, which I have not heard or seen mentioned in any of the posts I have read so far...

98 318i, 4 door coup, 128,000 miles. runs great. Only problems I had are my fog lights getting cracked from rocks and someonekicking one in My moms 95 525i has over 190,000 miles on it and runs like the first day she got it. The only major thing she had to replace was the Vanos Solinoid (SP) that was about $200 at cost price!!! Oh, I need to replace her coolant level sensor, it will tell her she is low on coolant when she is not. Other than that, NOTHING!

I've got 120K on my E39 and minus a plethora of small electrical problems, she runs great.

I had a '91 735iL with 215,000+ on the original engine and it ran like it was brand new. God bless German motors.
