Well, I did it...
I put down a deposit and officially purchased a 2006 4.8is X5 in Imola Red. I planned on having the car shipped (a cost of around $900) to St. Louis. Instead, I cooked up a brilliant plan at work to get the car...I am going to fly out of Stl this Friday morning into Philly, get picked up at the airport by someone from the dealership, give them the check and drive the car off the lot. Then my friend and I are going to stay at her Godmother's house on Friday night and drive 11-12 hours back to Stl on Saturday. Then Sunday is supposed to be a nice day so I am going to clean my new car on Christmas Eve and put it under my tree!
Is there anything I should look for and/or ask while at the dealer?
By the way, my Dad and I drove a new 3.0 and 4.8 X5 the other day. Honestly, I was not overly impressed by the interior and the third row seats are worthless. The idrive is confusing and the shifter is very different.
When I get back I'll snap some pics...anything I should see in Philly while I am there?
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!
