Subframe bushing install questions (Should go for most models...)

I dont have the tool to remove/install subframe bushings. Removing the old bushings is no problem (thats what fire and sawzall and drills are for...[:D]), but is there a better way to install them other than forcing them into the subframe with a bottle jack and using the car's weight to press it in? I'm just worried about it going in evenly and straight.

Any tips?? (BTW it's on an 89 535i, but that shouldnt make a difference)

It was my understanding that you need a press to get the new one on. I've heard of people doing it all themsevles, except for taking the control arm and bushing to a shop to do just that.
