My friend tells me that BMW claims the M Coupe is the stiffest car they've ever produced. Is this true? He says that it produces 16,400 Newton-meters per degree of twist. I'm not exactly sure what this means, and I know that he isn't so sure either. Can someone please explain this and verify that it really is the stiffest BMW model? I know that the Z4 roadster is about 270% stiffer than the Z3 roadster but I didn't know there were such specific measurements. Also, I don't even know when BMW made a claim like this. It's likely to be true if they stated that 3 years ago but I don't know if it stands true today.

Yeah, the M coupe was the stiffest BMW ever produced up until its time. I don't know if it still stands true today or not. I believe the figure you gave means that in order to twist the front of the chassis one degree relative to the rear of the chassis (torsional strain), it will take 16,400 Newton-meters of torque.
