Ok, so I'm driving to school like I do every morning. It's a 35 minute drive that involves taking the parkway, but I always get there in less than 20 Anyway, I pulled off at the exit and went thru the toll. Stopped at a stop sign and accelerated to the next light - no problems. When I was stopping at the light I noticed the braking action felt a little weird but thought nothing of it. But when the light turned green I tried to accelerate and the car just CRAWLED and took forever to start moving even with me flooring it. I looked at the dash and the transmission light was on! So I'm driving now just down the street from my school and I can tell the car will not downshift from 4th gear. I tried to put it in manual mode but that wouldnt work either. I just made it into the parking lot and I was really late so I couldn't check anything out - I didn't try the car in reverse, which I should have, but whatever. I disconnected the battery cable and when I was done school everything worked fine... What could have caused this?
