I am purchasing upgrade springs for my car, but wanted to know what the color markings on the springs meant.
I think they represent how stiff they are. I thought i saw this into in my bently book, but all i could find is how to get the part number from it.
I think i saw it as white as regular, green, then red for more stiff.

I would have thought that black is regular. My previous car (Jetta) and my G35C both have black springs. [???1]
But when shopping for springs, the product description should explain how tight the springs are. "Race springs" are for track use, and "Sport springs" are for performance street use. You should probably look into Eibach springs as I *believe* Eibach makes springs for BMW. I don't know how much that helps, but yeah...

well, thanks but no. and to clarify for those that have jumped into assumptions about what im talking about, i meant a small paint mark on the black springs. but anyway, nice to see we have a well educated board [:p]
