My goal is to get a car sporty enough to snap it from lane to lane without too much roll or tire screech, and I'd like to retain original ride height, at least as much as reasonably possible.
The example car is an '89 325i I test drove, but I suppose you could apply this to any car. Here's the skinny:
1) The car bounces up and down somewhat as I go over hills, potholes, and other mild elevation changes. I think this means it could use new shocks, right? Shocks I think cover the up/down motion.
2) The car leans too much left/right when turning the steering wheel at any speed above 10 mph (or approx 15 kph for you metric folks). I think this means it needs new struts, which I think help with side to side, yes?
3) When I aggressively stop, there's some tire sreech. I'm 99% sure the tires on the car just stink.
Any comments on my amateur analysis?
If I decided to have new OEM shocks/struts installed, are there any other parts I should be considering? I'm pretty sure springs are good for the life of the car, more or less at least. I know enough about tires to find something I'll be happy with
