sony am/fm/cass. volume BEEPS how to shut beep off?

Hope post says it all.
Every time I hit volume the stereo beeps. Driving me nuts!

It should be somehwere under the menu button's list, something like "Beep....ON" just turn it off.

1. throw it out the window on the freeway into oncoming traffic
2. open the case and cut every wire you see
3. give it to a ricer owner
4. hook up the input for voltage in your house with 110+ volts - sit back and enjoy the fireworks

any off these or all are great solutions to any sony equipment

I have an older Sony headunit. I don't know if yours is the same but mine is at least 6-8 years old. But what works on mine is I hold down the select button (which is in between the volume up and down button) and press the 6 key while holding down the select button. Does your unit have any buttons? If so try holding down your select button and pressing any of 1-through whatever stations buttons. Might work, might not. Hope this helps.

Hears the fix, Pull the sony out, kick it around the yard, let the dog crap onit, use it for a golf tee, throw it at the next Jahovas Witness that rings your door bel at 8am saturday morning, then buy a Pioneer, Blaupunkt or Alpine and install.

Soooo let me guess-old Sony is good for target practice? I had to replace my standard (quality) BMW unit-"it happens all the time" with one I had in the basement until I find what I want.
