hey guys merry Xmas . I've noticed I'm getting alot of nicks and chips from my freeway driving out here. When I purchased the car with 24k miles it hardly had any chips. It was a cali car . Now its getting more and more real fast . My question is that I remember someone talking about a clear plastic film that you can cut to cover your cars front to stop the damage . Have you guys tried this or know anything about it? thanks in advance...

yeah, it's usually a film made by 3M. One of the names is Stonegard I think. Some people say it's visible, some say not really. You need to judge for yourself.

The 3M film rocks. I put in on my silver 325 at purchase and while it CAN be seen, you have to be within 5 feet of the car to see it. 99% of the people that have commented on my car didn't notice the film until I pointed it out. I was sure I wanted it when I saw it on a car in the showroom.

Sorry, but how is it off topic? Jonnyz16 wanted suggestions for protecting his front end from chips - others mentioned the 3M film, So I commented on how much I adore my 3M film kit - hopefully it will encourage him to go take a look at it!

As for the avatar - thanks!
