When I get a chance to go back home, I'll try and take pics and stuff. It's a silver on black 05 Tiburon base model with auto. No extra options other than free floormats (which match the pattern on the seats, kinda cool).
First impression is that it's impressively decent. Not outstanding or anything, but competitive. I mean, for the price, it's hard to beat. Great looks, interior materials quite good. Missing a few things here and there (no rear wiper, no engine immobilizer on the alarm, no cruise I think) but all the major stuff is there. Power everything. Ride wasn't all that smooth, but good enough. Not harsh. Pretty quiet. better than my ancient Civic that we traded in. Not too much interior storage space, but the trunk was surprisingly roomy for a little coupe. Gas mileage is a little low compared to the competition, but still decent.
I dunno if it was cuz the dealer was desparate to make a deal, or Honda just has great resale, but they didn't fight us much on the trade in value. Salesguy just went to KBB.com, punched in the numbers for our Civic in fair condition, and offered us what KBB said the trade-in value was. We got them to go up $500. Sight unseen. Civic was back home in the garage. I was quite surprised (my Civic has some scrapes, dents, check engine light is on, interior dome light doesn't work, car just overheated a week or so ago... basically, fair condition was generous). They even knocked a couple hundred dollars more off the newspaper ad price.
Out the door price was $12,500 including the trade-in. The Hyundai warranties just blew my parents away. Bumper-to-bumper is 5yr/60K mi (like BMW), 10yr/100K mi powertrain. Even includes 5 yr/unlimited mi roadside service.
Sister wanted a VW Bug or a Mini, but just couldn't find one for less than our $15,000 ceiling.
