SMG M3 or 330Ci ?

I am looking at a 2003 M3 SMG convertible or a 330Cic.
Any advantages or disadvantages.
I had a 2002 M3 coupe 6sp but I tired of the manual tranny for everyday.
I have not driven the SMG but I like the paddle shifter like the Lexus IS350.

Does the vert M3 have a spare tire?
Any quick lessons on the SMG?

For about 1.5 years I had 2 2004 330cics and for about 11 months I had a 2005
M3 with SMG & Competition Pkg.. There are pros and cons to both. If you are tired of the manual tranny for everyday with your M3, sorry to say it, but the SMG is not going to be "easier" for you. As much as people think the "auto" mode is an automatic...it is NOT. The SMG can deliver mind blowing fast gear changes, but if you are not good at it, you will give yourself and your passengers daily whipblash.

The 330cic with automatic was for me, IMO, much better as a daily driver. Easy to handle, quite fast and the mpg was actually pretty good. The M3 (as you know) loves to go the the gas station.

Sorry Adam, I forgot you had owned one. I would take what Adam and ///Mspeed say and consider it wise advice,, regardless I still wish you luck in your pursuit for the car for you!

No prob Dan, and Thanks! Yeah, see what Scott has to say, as I think he's a bigger fan of SMG than I am now (& he's had his much longer than I had mine). At the beginning I thought SMG was SO cool, but the novelty quickly, quite quickly wore off (especially as I lurched forward, and almost hit 2 people in a crosswalk!)

As much fun as the SMG "could/can" be, I would rather have an automatic, and yes! even a manual tranny over the SMG. SMG is a little like communism, it looks good on paper & in theory, but in reality it kinda really sucks [thumb] he he
