Shelby Mustang Cobra GT 500

Sneak pics of the Shelby Mustang Cobra GT 500, to be officially unveiled soon at the New York Auto Show. This SVT (Special Vehicle Team) version of the new Mustang will be the one to get for the hardcore - expect anywhere from 450-500hp in the final production version. Also, expect the price to be in the upper $30s-$40k+ range. I like that they removed the foglights from the grill (not like the GT version) - looks much better without them.

Phoar, looks freakin' mean. Perhaps the grille needs the pony badge on it but, personally, I like the minimalist, no muckin' around approach.

Nice find Tom. I love the Shelby and the pictures I saw of the Saleen a while back. I have to disagree on one thing. I like the fog lamps in the grill. The Cobra badge sets it off though. It will be a monster....

I like the looks of this one. I never fully warmed to the Saleen. Neither in pictures nor in real life. I'm not a fan of the giant foglights in the grill either.

I know it's prolly tradition or something, but I'd prefer the Cobra badge to be in the middle of the grill. Otherwise, that thing is hot! Only thing I'd be doing is trying to put HID headlights in there.

Looks awesome! I generally hate Ford products, but I must admit this car is sick, especially with those power/price numbers. Whatever is inside the grill looks mean, its like the head of a Cobra...
