*Pssst get the 330ci instead ( same price range, way better looking, much higher quality (350Z is plastic inside) BMW > Nissan) Test drive a 2k4 330cI or maybe if u can afford 42k, test drive the 330i with performance package.

The Z has a few nice features. I love how the entire dash pod moves when you raise or lower the steering wheel. That way you can still see your speedo. But the Z has a pretty harsh ride. I wouldn't want one for any high mileage driving. And it's nothing to be driving in the snow.

You may want to check into how well it's expected to hold its value. You know the BMW will. If you've seen some used Zs, compare the sticker with the selling price.

350Z is a great car. I would say the interior is more plain than it is cheap. Keep in mind that the ride really is very harsh. My G35C has the same suspension setup as the 350Z except for softer springs, and the ride is still really harsh with my car. The 18" wheels hit the bumps REALLY hard but I have never had any problems with potholes and stuff, and I take my car into NYC almost every week-end.
You should really test-drive one before making the final decision, unless you have already. The engine is really great, lots of power, smooth power delivery, and it SCREAMS at high rpm's...an almost truck-like tone to it, I dunno if you like it or not.
The transmission is really great too...shifts are notchy, but the gearbox is very precise and shifts are so damn close and cleaer, every other manual tranny feels like a step down.
If it helps you out, I can list the things I hate about my car....I know it's not a 350Z, but they're pretty similar cars.

Ok - I went and had a hard look at a 350Z track. I liked the exterior, but I think the interior was the cheapest interior that I have ever seen. The car was only a year old, but all the little plastic doors bin doors had a hard time opening. This car was in excellent condition too. I much more impressed with the RX8 interior.

I'd much rather get the G35 Coupe. But yeah, the interior is too cheap. But, considering the price, I guess it's what they sacrificed. It's most definitely NOT in the same price range as a 330. It's in the 325's price range. But since it costs about the same as a G35, I'd much rather get teh Infiniti.

The G35 interior isn't anything special, either though. I mean, in my opinion the titanium/aluminum trim (whatever you wanna call it) looks great but it scratches pretty easily. The inside door handle thingies which have the aluminum trim on them also are suffering from where and tear (random scratches all over if you look carefully) but I don't even understand why because I don't even touch those handles lol.
