Satellite Radio in 2004 525i E60

Has anyone been dealing with this?

Recently bought a 2004 525i and it did not come with Satellite Radio, but was supposed to be. Didn't even come with the prep. (no nav system).

Now can't get Sirrus installed and to have XM put in is an additional $1,000.

Any advice?


Also, advice on putting a Motorola V60i cell in the car?

Yes, I am in the same situation. My car did not have the 693 satellite prep kit installed. According to 2 dealerships it would cost roughly $4,000 to re-work the wiring harness. However, I was told that there will be a retro-kit available for Sirius some time in the next 6 months (don't hold your breath). This was from, what I consider, a reliable BMW dealer. What is interesting to me is that neither dealership mentioned XM at all. Where are you getting your XM information?
