I'm not going to be tracking my car any time soon... but is it honestly worth getting the sachs sport clutch kit?

My pedal is already super stiff... and thats becuase my throwout bearing is bad.

How stiff does the sachs sport clutch make the pedal? I still need to drive this thing in the city... So far I'm leaning towards the stanard sachs clutch kit.

I think a sport clutch will ultimately become a bit of a liability after a while in city driving. You'll probably tire of revving the nuts of your car every time you want to get her moving... As for the weight of the clutch pedal, well, the E30 isnt exactly known for it's light, chick-friendly clutch action is it [hihi].

It's up to you but i reckon you will get annoyed with a sports clutch.

Oh I know... but the girls really appreciate how strong and tuned my legs are from the pedal stiffness. [:p]

I had a standard Sachs clutch kit put in mine. You'll crap at how light the pedal is after it is replaced compared to how stiff they get when the pressure plate wears out. I had to learn how to drive the car all over again - I kept stalling it because I'd let the clutch out too fast!

Did you ever install any kind of clutch stop? I'm thinking about it.

I just got the standard in mine. I can't imagine needing any more grab than it has. Thing wouldn't slip if i wanted it to. Although i did burn my last one a bit trying to do a brake stand for the first time. I have learned since...

I've done a few brake stands. No slippage [hihi]

You have to be careful about your brake pressure.

when i changed to stick, i had this option and decided to go with stock sachs... dont ask me, thats how i bought it from bavauto (clutch kit)
its pretty highly rated (200hp) which is still overkill on our m20's. I also knew i would be doing engine mods and still decided to go with stock because of other boards suggestions as well. im happy with mine.

Get the Sport clutch. If your car is anything like the E46 3-series clutches, it's definitely on the light side. Plus you'll be more ready if you decide to mod your car (for more hp) down the road...

Well... my clutch is super heavy already, e30's are known for fairly heavy clutches (Which I personally like).

I won't be doing anything soon that will require a sports clutch. E30's aren't one of those "raw figures" cars when it comes to HP and torque. Mods are more about getting more hp/torque more often... so instead of getting 250 hp at a sharp peak, it's really, in real life, much more useful to get more of your power during more of the RPM's (like 200hp). Especially on the back-road driving I would be doing.

That's true, but most mods aren't designed just to give you that top end power increase. Most of the time, any quality mod should give you more power throughout the rev range. I agree, any mod that only gives you more power at that one rpm point is not really worth it for street driving...it is quite hard to drive around at high rpm's unless you're constantly accelerating like a madman.
