I am new to the forum. I wish I knew about this before I developed problems with my 525i. My 525i motor gave it up at 233,332 miles. It failed compression tests and leak down tests.

I ordered a rebuilt motor from Bavarian Engine Exchange of Sacramento. It should be here in about two weeks. It will have a polished head and a hotter cam than OEM. I also ordered the clutch kit from them. I want to upgrade as I replace if it makes sense.

I installed a Dinan intake manifold and computer chip previously.

Does anyone have a recommendation for exhaust headers and the rest of the exhaust system? Dinan has an exhaust system, but there may be better options.

In a past life, about 20 years ago, I rebuilt my 1971 2002 motor on one occasion and replaced the motor on the next go around. So I have successfully done this kind of work, but I am open to suggestions. After I finish the 525i I plan on getting the 2002 back in the garage and on the road.
