I also have an Escort Passport 8500 X50 model. Here is my setup....
In the first picture, you can see the wire goes upwards into the headliner. The wire then runs to its power source, and then all the way to the left side of my shift knob (where the remote "Mute" button is).
I have the Direct-Wire SmartCord, which you can get from here:

Just examine the interior of your car and you should be able to install a similar setup with some creativity...figure out where you want your remote mute button, where you wanna hook-up the power for the radar (you can hook it up to where your fuses and relays are, you can hard-wire it to the HomeLink of your mirror, etc., you have a lot of options), and just make it the whole setup as "stealth" as you can.
