That looks like a nice facility. It got me curious as to why they might be selling it, race tracks are sometimes very successful, sometimes money losers. I Googled this track and found lots of hits and events, so it appears to be pretty popular, but this article implies they are struggling:
ALBUQUERQUE -- And the race is off! Only 29 days and some odd hours left to place your bid on eBay to buy the Sandia Motor Speedway.
The 85-acre race track was listed on the Internet auction site Friday morning and had received a high bid of $10,100 after about eight hours online.
Four bids had been made for the race track, which was appraised at $4.24 million in 2002, said manager Dawn Freeze, one of 52 investor-owners authorizing the sale.
Though no price was listed for the track, the owner group has the right to pull the speedway off eBay if the bids aren't high enough, said Anne Apicella, a commercial real estate agent with Grubb & Ellis New Mexico.
Apicella said the eBay posting should bring attention to the track, which opened in 2000 and has been for sale for about a year.
"We've tried the traditional avenues without success, so we're hoping this will bring us the exposure we need," she said.
The track includes half-mile and quarter-mile paved oval tracks, a 1.7-mile road course and a 21-acre motocross course, recreational vehicle parking, a concession stand and grandstand seating for 3,000 fans.
The posting will remain up until Oct. 17.
The track was developed in the 1990s by a group of investors who also were race enthusiasts.
